GPA calculator
Calculate your semester GPA from course credits and grades on the 4.0 scale or the 10-point scale.
What is the gpa calculator used for?
Grade Point Average (GPA) is a single number that summarises your grades across courses, weighted by the credits each course carries. Universities, scholarship panels and employers use it to compare students. A GPA calculator lets you check your result for a semester, or plan the grades you need next term.
Add each course with its credits and your grade. The tool multiplies the grade points by the credits, adds them up and divides by the total credits. Choose the 4.0 scale used in the US and many international schools, or the 10-point scale common in India.
Why use this one
You can add as many courses as you need and switch scales without re-entering anything. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and nothing is stored or uploaded, so your grades stay private.
Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
GPA = (sum of credits × grade points) ÷ (sum of credits). For example, a 3-credit A (4.0) and a 4-credit B (3.0) give (3 × 4 + 4 × 3) ÷ 7 = 3.43.
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA usually describes one semester or term. CGPA (cumulative GPA) averages all semesters so far, weighted by credits.
What grade points does the 4.0 scale use here?
A and A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7, F = 0. Some schools use slightly different values, so check your own policy.
What scale does the 10-point option use?
O = 10, A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ = 7, B = 6, C = 5, P = 4, F = 0, which is common in Indian universities. Your university may use different points, so confirm them.
Can I calculate my cumulative GPA?
Yes. Enter all your courses from every semester with their credits and grades, and the result is your cumulative GPA.
