BUSINESS TOOLS / DISCOUNT CALCULATOR

Discount calculator

Find the sale price after one or two discounts, how much you save, and the final price with GST.

What is the discount calculator used for?

A discount calculator shows the price you actually pay after a percentage off. Shoppers use it to compare offers, and sellers use it to set sale prices. Many sales stack two discounts, such as 20% off plus an extra 10% coupon, and the result is not simply 30% off.

Enter the original price and one or two discount percentages. You see the price after the discounts, the amount you save, the true combined discount and, if you add a GST rate, the final price including tax.

Why use this one

It applies the second discount to the already reduced price, which is how stacked offers really work, and it shows the true combined percentage. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up, and updates as you type.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a percentage discount?

Discount amount = price × discount % ÷ 100, and sale price = price − discount amount. Equivalently, multiply the price by (1 − discount ÷ 100).

Why is 20% plus 10% off not 30% off?

The second discount applies to the reduced price. A ₹1,000 item at 20% off is ₹800, and 10% off that is ₹720, so the total discount is 28%, not 30%.

Is the discount applied before or after GST?

Usually the discount reduces the price and GST is charged on the discounted price. Enter your GST rate to see the final price on that basis.

How do I find the original price from the sale price?

Divide the sale price by (1 − discount ÷ 100). A sale price of ₹800 after 20% off means an original price of ₹1,000.

Can I use this for markdowns in my shop?

Yes. Enter your listed price and the markdown percentages to see the new selling price, and check it against your cost with the margin calculator.
