What is the image converter and compressor used for?

Large photos slow down websites, fill up email attachments and fail upload limits on job portals and government forms. Compressing an image reduces its file size, and converting it to another format lets you use it where a specific format is required, for example JPG for a form or WebP for a faster website.

Choose an image, pick a format, adjust the quality and optionally set a maximum width. You see the size before and after, a preview, and a download button. WebP usually gives the smallest file for photos, JPG works everywhere, and PNG keeps sharp text and transparency.

Why use this one

Your image is processed in your browser and is never uploaded to a server, so private photos and documents stay on your device. There is no file-size limit from a server, no watermark and no sign-up. The before and after size lets you find the lowest quality that still looks good.

Frequently asked questions

Which format should I choose?

Use WebP for websites and the smallest files, JPG for photos that must work everywhere, and PNG for screenshots, logos and images with transparency or sharp text.

Will compression reduce image quality?

JPG and WebP at lower quality discard some detail to save space. A quality of 70 to 85 percent is usually hard to tell from the original. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider does not apply to it.

How do I make an image smaller than 100 KB?

Lower the quality, set a maximum width such as 1200 pixels, and choose WebP or JPG. Watch the New size box until it falls under the limit.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so the image never leaves your device.

Why did a PNG get bigger?

PNG stores every pixel without loss, so a photo converted to PNG is often larger than the JPG original. Choose JPG or WebP for photos.
