IMAGE TOOLS / IMAGE RESIZER

Image resizer

Resize an image to exact pixels or a percentage, with ready sizes for Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp and passport photos.

What is the image resizer used for?

Resizing changes the width and height of an image in pixels. You need it to fit a photo into an application form with a fixed size, to prepare pictures for Instagram, YouTube or WhatsApp, to make a passport-size photo, or to shrink a large camera photo before emailing it or putting it on a website.

Choose an image, then type the width or height, set a percentage, or pick a ready preset. With Keep proportions ticked, changing one side updates the other so the picture is not stretched. Download the result as JPG, PNG or WebP.

Why use this one

The presets give you the right pixel sizes for popular uses without looking them up. Your image is resized in your browser, so private photos are never uploaded, there are no watermarks and there is no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without stretching it?

Keep Keep proportions ticked and change only the width or the height. The other side is calculated to keep the original shape.

What size is a passport photo in pixels?

A 35 x 45 mm photo at 300 dpi is about 413 x 531 pixels, which is one of the presets. Always check the exact size and background rules of the office you are applying to.

Does making an image bigger improve it?

No. Enlarging only stretches the existing pixels, so the picture looks softer. Resize down where you can, and start from the largest original.

Why did I get a plain white background?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Save as PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The resizing runs in your browser and the picture stays on your device.
