What is the age calculator used for?
An age calculator works out how old someone is, to the day, from their date of birth. It is used for school and college admissions, exam eligibility, job applications, insurance and pension forms, and simply to find out how many days you have been alive.
Enter a date of birth. By default the age is calculated for today, and you can change the second date to find the age on any other day, such as a cut-off date for an exam. The result is shown in years, months and days, with totals and the days left to the next birthday.
Why use this one
The age on a chosen date is useful for eligibility rules that fix a cut-off date. It also shows the weekday you were born on. It runs in your browser, with no sign-up, and your date of birth is never uploaded.

How is age calculated in years, months and days?
The tool subtracts the birth date from the chosen date, borrowing days from the previous month and months from the year where needed, which is how people count age.
Can I find my age on a particular date?
Yes. Change the Age on date field to the cut-off date, for example the last date of an exam application.
How are leap years handled?
The calendar is built in, so 29 February and leap years are counted correctly in the day totals.
When is my next birthday?
The Days to birthday box shows how many days remain until your next birthday from the chosen date.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. The calculation happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
